Finishing and Plating Service, Inc.

Finishing and Plating Service, Inc. was founded in 1952 by the late Tom Laken Sr. who was a self-taught chemist through International Correspondence Schools in analytical and quantitative chemistry. He was able to take an idea and make it a successful business that is in its third generation.

Tom Sr. retired in 1981 and FPS was purchased by his son Tom Jr. who continues to manage and oversee operations. Bruce Laken and Tom III are continuing the hard work that Tom Sr. thought of many years ago.

In 1991, FPS relocated to Kenosha Industrial Park as a 38,000sq ft facility with 6 state of the art plating lines running three shifts, 5 days a week. Since then we have built not one but two additions, increasing our warehouse space and enclosing our shipping docks to make it easier for the customer. Environmentally we have a custom water treatment facility that exceeds the latest local, state and federal requirements.

Continuing to keep the customer demands and improving our service, in 2002 we became ISO 9001-2000 compliment. We were recertified in December 22, 2005.

FPS continues to support the Kenosha community by many charitable contributions to local non-profit organizations. We are also active members of NAMF, CMFI and AESF.
